The first spa house was founded in 1805 near one of the 40 springs, which is located in Marianske Lazne. Their temperature ranges from 7 - 10 ° C and is suitable for the treatments of kidneys, respiratory organs and locomotive organs. They experienced the greatest boom especially after 1872 when the spa was connected by rail to Cheb, Vienna and Prague. Well-known and important personalities such as Emperor Franz Joseph, Friedrich Nietzsche, Mark Twain, Thomas Alva Edison and many others came to the spa at that time. Due to their small size, they are a very quiet place to relax.

Marianske Lazne has a lot to offer, mainly from natural sources. You can visit a large amount of the springs, from which the most important ones can be found in the Main Colonnade, which is 135 meters long and is the longest in the Czech Republic. At the end of the colonnade, closer to the centre of the park, you will find the dominant of Mariánské Lázně - the Singing Fountain, which plays every odd hour, and the performance includes a water projection and colour lighting. Nearby is the Municipal Museum, which was rebuilt from the guest house where Johann Wolfgang Goethe lived and is also the oldest preserved building in Marianske Lazne. Further away from the city centre, is yet another very interesting place called Park Boheminium, where you will find miniatures of famous Czech castles such as Karlstejn, Hluboka or Cesky Krumlov and many other buildings in 1:10 ratio. Less than 9 km north of Marianske Lazne is located Kladska, one of the most beautiful places in the area. In this protected area you will find pure nature full of ponds, hunting lodge and a trail through local peat bogs, with wide variety of flora and fauna.
