The first specific mention of the brewery dates back to 1581 when the first known owner offered the brewery to Emperor Rudolf II. At that time, the brewery consisted of one fermentation cellar and six beer cellars, two-hop gardens, two mills and a taproom. Two years later, in 1583, the brewery actually passed into the ownership of the crown and has since been named the Royal Brewery Krušovice. In 2008 it has been a part of the Heineken brewing group.

During the tour, which lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes beer tasting, you will learn many interesting facts about the world-class beer production, wort production, filtration and bottling using the latest technology. Guided tours are held all year round and include German, Russian and English translations. Due to the popularity of the excursion, it is recommended to book at least a week in advance. The beer tasting is only allowed for persons over 18 years of age.

Although Křivoklát Castle has been severely damaged by fires several times, today you can admire its beauty in original form. You will find a magnificent castle chapel, the Royal and Knights' Hall with an exhibition of Gothic painting and sculpture art, a library containing an incredible 52,000 volumes of historical books, a rich Fürstenberg Museum and a picture gallery. Gentlemen will surely be interested in the famous prison and torture chamber with torture instruments. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding forests from the monumental Great Tower that also contains hunting collections.

Many interesting events take place at the Krivoklat Castle during the year, including magical night tours, concerts, theatres, musicals, film festival and many more. Each event is unique and enjoys great interest from visitors. In the courtyard of the castle, you will find a restaurant, a café and several shops. There is also a mint where you can get involved in the coinage process with the theme of Krivoklat castle or Ducat of Charles IV. Another popular activity is Kelley's Dungeon. The castle hosts seasonal exhibitions all year round.

You can also enjoy the medieval atmosphere at night excursion that includes overnight accommodation and you can choose the Gendarmerie Station, the Apartment at the Fox Bastion or the Apartment of Master Kelley.

The castle is open all year round, except for some selected days. It is possible to make the castle excursion available for groups of at least 15 visitors even outside the opening hours.

The history of Chyse Chateau was really wild in the past and starts in the mid of the 12th century when originally a fortress stood here that thanks to the contribution of 10 Nobel families over the years were gradually transformed into a chateau. The biggest change happened during the 15th century when Burian of Gutstein got the direct possession of the ruined castle, for helping the Czech king. Besides the renovation of the ruined caste, Burian of Gutstein builds vast fortification around the city with eleven bastions, a municipal hospital and church of Saint Bartholomew directly in town. 

This gem of West Bohemia proudly survived all the wars, but unfortunately, the arrival of communism has become fateful, when it was expropriated to the owners of the Lazansky family. During this era, the chateau was not lucky enough to belong among “viewing chateaus”, which were given the greatest care and protection and the chateau was cleared and closed in 1976. This period was devastating for the chateau as it slowly started to deteriorate, and water started leaking inside. 

After 20 years in 1996, the Lazansky family bought the chateau again and restored it to its original appearance. The chateau complex now also includes a 9-hectare park and the Pansky brewery, which was built between 1839 and 1841. However, the brewery in Chyse has a tradition since 1580 and since 2006, the production of the quality chateau beer was restored after 74 years. You will be welcomed here by a stylish restaurant and a traditional beerhouse in the historical interiors of the brewery with specialities of beer cuisine but above all by the Chyse beer brewed according to old Czech recipes!
