RECOMMENDED STOPS IN GENEVA
The Old Town offers a glimpse into the history of Geneva, where you will find lots of old, picturesque streets that will take you to the Cathedral of St. Peter from the 12th century, with breathtaking views of the city and the adjacent lake. Near the cathedral, you can find the La Place du Bourg-de-Four square and the medieval house Maison Tavel, which was formerly inhabited by the nobility. Right opposite from Maison Tavel you can admire the artillery museum L'ancien Arsenal, where you will find old cannons and beautiful war-themed mosaics. From the Old Town, it is just a short walk to Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), dominated by the Jet d'Eau fountain, which is 140m high. Along the coast, you can reach the Bains des Pâquis, which during the summer serves as a public bath and during the winter as a sauna. The bohemian Carouge district is full of great restaurants, cafes, and boutiques for shopping. Try traditional cheese fondue, one of the many kinds of famous Switzerland cheese, or visit chocolate factories Favarger or Auer. On the left bank just outside the centre, you can visit the United Nations building, the Red Cross Museum or the CERN Science Museum.
Sport and adrenaline
If you like adventure, we recommend you to try Paragliding. You will take off from the French mountain Saleve and fly around the Alps, over Lake Geneva to Geneva itself, or try the Zip-line. In the summer, you can try Paddle Boarding, thanks to which you can see Geneva from the lake perspective.
